Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
  • Infrastructure engineering, design and deployment of Teradata systems.
  • Provides database administration and system administration support for Teradata systems.
  • Design, implement and manage the security of Teradata databases.
  • Responsible for developing and supporting backups and restores.
  • Solve difficult technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with others team to solve technical issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of database Design/Architecture and setup.
  • Provide training to members of the Database team on Teradata.
  • 7+ years of hands on experience in Teradata Database administration.
  • 7+ years of hands on experience in Teradata system administration hosted on premises and cloud environments.
  • 7+ years of hands on experiences in Linux environment in an administrator role.
  • 4+ years of hands on experience in python coding.
  • Hands on experience working with Teradata Query Grid.
  • 3 years of experience in Agile Scrum/Kanban.
  • Hands on experience with solving Teradata database performance issues.
  • Hands on experience with database monitoring using Teradata viewpoint.
  • Hands on experience with building and maintaining Teradata backup/restore scripts using DSA and TARA
  • Hands on experience working with Teradata utilities like TPT, FAST LOAD, MLOAD, TPUMP, TSET etc.
  • Hands on experience supporting Teradata database upgrades.
  • Hands on experience supporting Teradata system expansions.
  • Experience in automating administration tasks using tools like Udeploy, Jenkins, Ansible and Puppet.
  • Experience in networking concepts, authentication mechanisms like LDAP/Kerbroes
  • Experience working with Teradata vendor on incidents and change controls.
  • Knowledgeable with Hadoop eco system, ETL and BI tools etc.
  • Proactively work on identifying and fixing database related issues.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to handle ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team-oriented environment
  • Work in a team environment and contributes to the success of the team
  • Communicates effectively with all the stake holders.
