Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Understand and support the vision for a deeply integrated and consistent, joined up, end-to-end digital experience for our new Reps. This requires an understanding of integration from frontend interfaces down to backend systems of record, and a strong and determined leadership to ensure that the IBA is appropriately integrated into the new Rep process and is optimized to meet the Recruiter's and new Rep's needs.
  • Define business objectives and connect features to those objectives to discipline the approach and ensure digital solution delivers concrete, high business value over time.
  • Identify and allocate skills and resources to convert strategic vision into an attainable objective.
  • As necessary, choose technology vendors and other partners to assist with all or parts of strategy development, platform development, systems integration, interface design, and usability testing. Participate in buy v. build analysis, as needed.
  • Work directly with developers, engineers, experience designers, program managers, business.
  • Assess digital use and be laser focused on KPIs to track progress and manage changes quickly. Will work with the data and analytics insights manager to link metrics, analytics, and reporting to underlying business objectives from the outset; establish and track metrics to see how often Reps log in; which features they want and use most often; and utilize the IBA as an onboarding activity that influences other behaviors, such as field training, pre-licensing class registration and attendance, passing the life license exam, and reaching the District Level sales position.
  • Work with other product owners to integrate user analytics and insights into advisor facing applications to highlight digital touchpoint usage and crosssell, upsell and retention opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement. Defining what "better" looks like is a central responsibility. This includes making the case for even deeper integration and developing the feature roadmap features that move from basic to more complex "show me what I should do" and "help me do it” features that interact with core transactional systems. This requires a strong understanding of technology and user experience issues in order to make the right tradeoffs in deciding on the product features to develop.
  • Collaborate with the distribution, marketing, training, communications and public relations groups to:
  • Market and explain the services to customers in a clear and compelling way.
  • Help define how best to describe the benefits of, with a focus on the time saved and improved metrics to drive key new Rep sales and development activities and ultimately sales distribution growth.
  • Develop a clearly thought-out and ongoing marketing strategy to deliver the right information to the right audience when needed (across multiple channels), encourage repeated use and overcome the barriers that deter customers (reps) from using digital solutions.
  • As needed, choose vendors that support and enhance the new Rep onboarding experience personalized help and training content and integrated marketing materials, for example.
  • Act as an ongoing champion for the product. Product Owner, with the support of the head of business technology and key stakeholders, will be responsible for maintaining momentum around new features and functionality beyond table stakes, and continue to act as champions for the vision of a more integrated new Rep experience.
  • Vision: establish strategic vision for clientfacing technology and help align the organization around a clear view of what's required to achieve business success.
  • Value focus: possess a miniCEO mindset with a focus on delivering measurable business value, delighting the customer, and optimizing ROI.
  • Decisiveness: natural problem solver who makes decisions and prioritizes initiatives using data and facts rather than intuition and feeling.
  • Product management: (Preferred) minimum 1-3 years of strong product management experience and a good sense for the intersection of business, user experience design, and technology.
  • IBA Product Owner must have a strong sense of the complete product vision (and not get lost in the details of its parts), the ability to inspire and influence people to deliver on the overall vision (not just one piece of the project), and focused on enabling the team by, for example, helping it make the hard product decisions.
