Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee unit operations on the assigned shift to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
- Provide charge nurse leadership while carrying a modified patient assignment as needed
- Perform or oversee the nursing process using evidence-based practice and critical thinking
- Round on patients daily to evaluate quality of care and address issues through coaching and accountability
- Coordinate patient flow, staffing assignments, and bed management
- Facilitate interdisciplinary communication, physician rounding, and care coordination
- Monitor and manage equipment, supplies, and staffing resources
- Support performance improvement, shared governance, and quality initiatives
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation and compliance with policies and standards
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff
- Mentor and precept nurses, students, and team members
- Promote evidence-based practice, research, and patient safety initiatives
- Maintain survey readiness, regulatory compliance, and patient safety standards
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key Skills; Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Georgia or Compact)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
- Direct patient care experience – Preferred
- Charge or relief charge experience – Preferred
- Strong clinical expertise and leadership capability
- Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage unit operations in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Basic computer and clinical technology proficiency
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Licensure & Certifications (required upon hire):
- Active RN License (Single-State of Georgia or Compact)
- BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Minimum 1 years of direct patient care RN experience
- Ability to deliver individualized care in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Commitment to Hospital care standards, safety policies, and code of conduct
- Ability to work night shift (for this specific role)
