Key Responsibilities:
- Work Shift: Part-time, Day Shift (3 eight-hour shifts/week). Every third weekend and standard holiday rotation required.
- Dedicated Patient Education: Provide structured admission education, daily reinforcement, and comprehensive discharge teaching to every Mother-Baby patient on the unit.
- Focus on newborn care (bathing, feeding, safety), maternal recovery, and recognizing warning signs.
- Care Coordination & Empowerment: Act as a central resource and liaison, empowering families with knowledge.
- Coordinate education plans and ensure seamless communication of the patient's educational goals with the primary care team.
- Relationship-Based Care: Build trusting, supportive relationships with diverse patient populations.
- Adapt teaching methods to reflect cultural diversity and individual learning needs.
- Program Development & Collaboration: Work as part of a dedicated team of education nurses to shape, standardize, and enhance the unit's educational strategies and materials.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Clinical Support: Utilize the nursing process to assess educational needs and evaluate understanding.
- Maintain clinical competency to provide accurate, evidence-based information.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key Skills; Registered Nurse (RN), Mother-Baby, Postpartum, NRP, Patient Education, BLS
- Licensure: Current Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license or Multi-State Compact RN license.
- Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing or graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: All required upon hire:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of direct patient care experience required. Minimum of 2 years of Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience is strongly preferred. A passion for patient and family education is essential.
- Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, teaching, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to work autonomously as part of a specialized team.
- Must be compassionate, patient, and possess strong critical thinking skills.
