Build and Release Engineer

Pay Range: $60 - $65/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining, and streamlining our automated build and release pipeline from code Compilation, automated testing, to deploying releases to multiple environments.
• Maintaining source control branches and performing integrations with merge conflicts.
• Facilitating and championing the quick resolution of problems found during the daily build and deployment efforts.
• Creating and maintaining documentation of the build /release process.
• Investigating tools and processes and integrating them so that they can improve the reliability, stability and efficiency with which we release our services.
• Working closely with the development team to integrate new deployment processes and strategies to meet our feature requirements.
• Strong knowledge of source control management and tools
• Proficient in developing Continuous Integration/ Delivery pipelines.
• Experience with automation/ integration tools like Jenkins
• Scripting experience with bash / shell scripting, strong command-line, and experience with at least one of Perl, Python, Ruby etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working within established code and process frameworks.
• Proactive and self-motivated – willing to improve on existing processes to allow for faster iterations.
• Strong track record of learning new tools and technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Git and Git Workflows.
• Administrative knowledge of Appian and MuleSoft
• Experience with build and release of online services and a passion for delivering a quality experience to customers.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Skills-CI/CD Pipeline Management, Version Control and Source Code Management, Build Automation and Scripting
• Set up systems that automatically compile code, run tests, and deploy software to different environments.
• Use tools like Git to handle code versions, fix merge conflicts, and keep everything organized.
• Be the go-to person when something breaks in the build or deployment process.
• Keep records of how builds and releases work so others can follow easily.
• Find better ways to release software faster and more reliably.
• Help the team release new features smoothly by improving deployment strategies.
• Know how to work with Jenkins or similar tools to automate software delivery.
• Write scripts using Bash, Python, or similar languages to automate tasks.
• Explain things clearly and work well with others.
