Maintenance Buyer

Pay Range: $20 - $23/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Management:
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts and pricing, and manage the purchase of MRO materials and equipment.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and timely delivery of goods.
  • Inventory Control:
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels; collaborate with maintenance teams to anticipate and meet supply needs.
  • Cost Management:
  • Identify and implement cost-saving strategies while maintaining quality and service standards.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all purchased items meet required specifications and quality standards; resolve any quality-related issues with vendors.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Prepare, process, and manage purchase orders, invoices, supplier records, and procurement documentation accurately.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and finance teams to understand operational needs and align procurement activities accordingly.
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations and performance reviews.
  • Stay informed about market trends, material costs, and supply chain developments.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, safety standards, and relevant regulations.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Key Skills: maintenance, repair, and operations,  negotiation, procurement software and tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within MRO or industrial maintenance environments.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
