Pay Range: $55000 - $80000/annually (dependent upon experience).

  • Nuclear Medicine Imaging: Perform high-quality nuclear medicine procedures according to exam protocol, including organ imaging, cardiac stress tests, and other diagnostic studies using radiopharmaceuticals. Maintain production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.
  • Radiation Safety: Demonstrate understanding of radiation dose reference levels, radiation dose monitoring, and actions to be taken if estimated dose exceeds set reference levels.
  • Take appropriate actions for cases where reference levels are exceeded, which may include patient follow-up. Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols for patients, staff, and self.
  • Patient Communication: Utilize AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) when communicating with patients to identify service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport.
  • Instruct and communicate with patients and families regarding the test to be performed and assess patient's ability to tolerate exam.
  • Radiopharmaceutical Administration: Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals under proper protocols. Calculate and measure doses accurately.
  • Technical Procedures: Prepare patient and area for procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. Operate gamma cameras and other nuclear medicine equipment.
  • Safety & Infection Control: Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control protocols, drug and radiation policies, and proper techniques. Use proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive procedures and maintain hand hygiene requirements.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Work with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Report issues to management or appropriate department. Assist in maintaining supplies inventory.
  • Quality & Customer Service: Ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, remaining professional, and developing action plans when required. Administer first aid and use emergency cart effectively when needed.
  • Professional Development: Maintain current knowledge, continued education, and skills appropriate for care across all age groups. Serve as preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 

  • Key skills; Current ARRT-N (Nuclear Medicine) or CNMT certification
  • New Graduates Accepted and Encouraged to Apply
  • Strong technical and patient care skills
  • Commitment to radiation safety and quality standards
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Experience: New Graduates Accepted and Encouraged to Apply.
  • Certification/Licensure:
  • Current ARRT-N (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Nuclear Medicine) or CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) certification required
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • State licensure as required by facility location
  • Skills: Strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Excellent communication, patient care, and teamwork skills. Ability to perform tasks independently without routine oversight.
  • Ability to maintain calm and helpful attitude under stress and take appropriate steps to resolve issues.
