Authorization Specialist I

Pay Range: $18 - $19/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
 
Key Responsibilities: 

• Receive authorization request via faxing system (FileNet) and processing those requests for either authorization build / authorization auto approval process.
• May be cross trained across other teams for support (part of their day to day)
• Team communicates daily through multiple TEAMS chats to ask questions, interact, etc. 

 
Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 

• Key skills; 1 Authorization Experience (entry level or some knowledge is okay)
• 1-2 years of experience in medical / behavioral health setting
• Computer Literacy 
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) – they will be trained on programs
• Medical Terminology
• Not meeting the 1-2 years of experience in medical / behavioral health setting requirement
• Not residing within the state of Florida
• Performance indicators:
• 20-25 authorizations per day metric – weighted eligibility
• Tracking system to highlight daily productivity.
•  Requires a High School diploma or GED.
