Pay Range: $33 - $59 /hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work night shift (for this specific role)
  • Ability to deliver individualized care in a fast-paced acute care environment
  • Commitment to Wellstar’s care standards, safety policies, and code of conduct
  • Leadership & Unit Management
  • Provide leadership and management for the Main Operating Room, ensuring clinical, financial, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as the chief retention and safety officer for the unit, promoting staff engagement and safety.
  • Hold all staff accountable for delivering high-quality care and compliance with standards.
  • Resource & Support Management
  • Ensure effective staffing, workflow efficiency, and resource allocation (human and material).
  • Utilize Lean and other quality improvement strategies to reduce waste and improve processes.
  • Support relationship-based care delivery and shared governance participation.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, leaders, and other departments.
  • Build strong partnerships through understanding, fairness, coaching, and constructive feedback.
  • Establish and maintain a healthy work environment that fosters teamwork and retention.
  • Clinical Practice & Outcomes
  • Promote and ensure staff competency in delivering high-quality clinical care.
  • Actively support onboarding, hiring, clinical development, and staff performance.
  • Model professional nursing practice and uphold ethical standards.
  • Utilize data and evidence to improve clinical and operational outcomes.
  • Professional Development
  • Develop and manage unit operational budgets, ensuring performance meets or exceeds goals.
  • Engage in community representation, committee involvement, and leadership development.
  • Foster ongoing learning and cultivate leaders within the team.
  • Evidence-Based Practice & Quality
  • Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive safe, effective decision-making.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of the healthcare environment and professional nursing practice
  • Ability to lead and manage change processes effectively
  • Strong systems-thinking approach
  • Ability to inspire, coach, and develop staff
  • Proficiency in budgeting, resource management, and operational business skills
  • Effective use of data and technology in decision-making
  • Knowledge of risk management, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong skills in professionalism, teamwork, and shared governance
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Licensure & Certifications (required upon hire):
  • Active RN License (Single-State or Compact)
  • BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive nursing management/leadership experience
