Key Responsibilities:

• Performs the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and analytical/critical thinking.
• Provides relationship-based patient centered care that is consistent with population specific characteristics.
• Always partners with the patient and significant others using methods like bedside shift report and interdisciplinary rounds.
• Practices using current clinical practice standards.
• Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model.
• Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner.
• Participates and supports performance improvement and actively supports/participates in shared governance at all levels.
• Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessment and required education.
• Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses to ensure a qualified workforce.
• Promotes Evidence based practice, nursing research and performance improvement in nursing.
• Upholds all health care system policies and clinical competencies.
• Participates in data collection and uses evidence to address practice questions.
• Proactively plans for the care of patients across the care continuum.
• Participates in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
• Supports efficient and effective use of human and material resources.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Must have skills: Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or obtain ACLS within 180 days), Current RN license (Georgia or Compact State),
• Minimum 5 years direct patient nursing care Required
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or critical care experience
• Associates Degree or Diploma in Nursing required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Current RN License in the State of Georgia or Multi-State Compact.
• Current BLS certification upon hire.
• ACLS certification upon hire or within 180 days.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years direct patient nursing care is required. Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or critical care experience is essential.
• Ability to read, write and speak English language.
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies.
• Possesses excellent time management skills.
• Practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills along with possessing strong critical thinking skills.
