Procurement Contract Compliance Specialist I

Pay Range: $27 - $30/hour (negotiable based on experience).  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Attachments: Coordinate the execution of Product Attachments and related compliance requirements to ensure compliance with state, federal, and Client requirements prior to Procurement awarding business to a vendor.
  • Monitor the submission of contract requests to the Health Plans to ensure timely, accurate, and appropriate submission and turnaround time
  • ContractCoE Standards: Support with management of contracting standards used within the Procurement department and related procedures, including but not limited to contract templates, playbooks, clause library, checklists, policies, procedures, and projects related to adherence with such standards.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Support with analysis and reporting of compliance projects, pilots, standards for ContractCoE.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Act as a junior subject matter expert for contracting standards and compliance requirements related to vendor contracts.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving inefficiencies, train staff/peers on standards and requirements, and develop quarterly plans to improve processes and/or update standards.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all contract compliance documents, projects, and actions pursuant to company standards; promptly update contract management systems with current information; document approvals according to policies and procedures.
  • Issue Resolution: Timely address and resolve questions or issues related to contract compliance requirements with vendors.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Corporate Legal, Compliance (Corporate and Health Plans), Business SMEs, Category Management, and other departments to understand, document, interpret, and implement contract compliance standards and requirements.
  • Customer Service Excellence: deliver premium customer service to internal stakeholders throughout the contracting process; respond promptly to inbound requests in line with procurement SLAs; provide frequent updates on contract status; always maintain polished and professional communication.
  • Very high volume of ticket-based requests; administrative and transactional type workload (average of 50-100/week).
  • Interacts with all health plans, compliance, peer groups, and external vendors to invoke flow downs for all Client lines of business.
  • Coordinate the execution of Product Attachments and related compliance requirements to ensure compliance with state, federal, and Client requirements prior to Procurement awarding business to a vendor.
  • Monitor the submission of contract requests to the Health Plans to ensure timely, accurate, and appropriate submission and turnaround time.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Key Skills: General knowledge of procurement concepts and processes
  • Strong customer service skills and mindset.
  • 1-3 years of experience with reviewing complex legal and commercial terms and raising risk exposures under general supervision.
  • 3 years of experience with any, multiple, or all the following:
  • Compliance or regulatory experience in a health care and/or managed care setting/organization.
  • Government procurement and flow down requirements for subcontractors or third-party vendors.
  • Drafting contract templates, terms and conditions, and improving contracting processes.
  • Experience with government procurement (FAR/DFAR) or CMS-related contracting.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Coupa and/or other ticket management and contract lifecycle management tools.
  • Consistently meet or exceed quality benchmarks (approximately 97% accuracy)
  • Resolve cases within required turnaround times
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration and proactive communication
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction through effective case resolution
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
