Pay Range: $60 - $65/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Note: Salt Lake, UT(Onsite), Open for Relocation upon conversion with Initial Remote.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Our client is seeking an innovative and dynamic Director of Computing to lead and enhance our Computing program.
  • This pivotal leadership role involves the strategic design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a cutting-edge computing curriculum.
  • The ideal candidate will collaborate with a diverse team of faculty, industry experts, and students to ensure that the curriculum remains at the forefront of technological advancements and industry needs.
  • The Director will balance academic and administrative responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of computing education.
  • This position reports directly to the Chief Academic Officer.
  • Lead the strategic design and continuous enhancement of the Computing curriculum.
  • Ensure the curriculum integrates rigorous theoretical foundations with practical, hands-on applications.
  • Incorporate the latest advancements in computing technologies, tools, and methodologies into the curriculum.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching and assessment strategies to maximize student learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to develop course content, teaching materials, and assessment tools.
  • Mentor and support faculty in adopting cutting-edge pedagogical approaches and integrating emerging computing technologies into their teaching.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative learning environment for both faculty and students.
  • Forge and maintain strong partnerships with industry leaders to ensure the curriculum remains aligned with industry needs and emerging trends.
  • Facilitate internships, co-op programs, and industry-sponsored projects to provide students with real-world experience.
  • Invite industry experts to guest lecture, lead workshops, and provide critical feedback on the curriculum.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive evaluation system to assess the effectiveness of the Computing curriculum.
  • Collect and analyze data on student performance, learning outcomes, and satisfaction.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform curriculum revisions and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the budget and resources allocated for the Computing curriculum.
  • Oversee the scheduling and delivery of Computing courses.
  • Supervise course facilitators and other support staff.
  • Actively participate in faculty committees and contribute to the academic governance of the institute.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 
  • Top Skills: Ph.D, Computing Research, Artificial Intelligence, Lead &Implement Curriculum Designs .
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in computing research (peer-reviewed publications) and/or practical application (patents, product designs).
  • Experience in teaching at the undergraduate level.
  • Proven track record in curriculum design, development, and assessment.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in collaborating with industry partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in developing online or blended learning courses.
  • Familiarity with computing ethics and social implications.
  • Publications in computing-related journals or conferences
