VMware Infrastructure Manager

Pay Range: $60 - $70/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
 
Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage virtualization and infrastructure-related projects (migration, upgrades, consolidation, new deployments).
• Coordination of migration work with project team technical resources
• Coordination of non-automated migrations with application teams
• Raising change requests
• Raising issues with internal technical teams and driving resolution
• Develop and manage migration plans

Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 

• Strong organization skills and ability to handle large projects
• Technical background including good experience with virtualization environments and core network concepts
• Excellent coordination and negotiation skills
• Comfortable dealing with both technical and non-technical team members and application managers
• Keen and confident
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to handle challenges and overcome obstacles
• Ability to meticulously notice, analysis and manage small elements to ensure accuracy, thoroughness and quality
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• VMware ESXi
• vCenter Server
• Clusters, HA, DRS and VM lifecycle management
• Good understanding of:
• Core networking concepts (VLANs, subnets, routing, firewall dependencies)
• Storage technologies and performance considerations
• Experience supporting enterprise operating systems (Linux / Windows).
• Experience in infrastructure migrations and upgrades.
• Ability to assess technical risks and operational constraints during projects.
