Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical & Operational Leadership: Direct daily shift activities, make appropriate staff and patient assignments, manage unit flow, and round with physicians/surgeons. Ensure efficient use of resources and equipment.
• Exemplary Practice & Outcomes: Round on all patients daily to evaluate care quality. Oversee the Nursing Process for the unit, ensuring individualized, evidence-based care and serving as a partner in care delivery.
• Tactical Duties: Manage bed placement in conjunction with the surgery schedule, coordinate discharges, consult with House Supervisors on bed flow, and serve as the clinical subject matter expert for the shift.
• Teamwork & Collaboration: Foster a respectful, inclusive clinical environment. Communicate effectively with the Nurse Manager regarding care delivery and staff performance. Promote interdisciplinary communication and planning.
• Professional Development & Mentorship: Serve as a preceptor and mentor, modeling professional practice and contributing to the growth and competency of the nursing team. Ensure staff compliance with education and proficiencies.
• Evidence-Based Practice: Promote quality improvement, safety initiatives (TJC goals), and nursing research. Participate in data collection and protocol development to achieve best-practice outcomes.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Skills-• Current RN license (Georgia or Compact State)
• Current BLS certification (required upon hire)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (2+ years preferred)
• Charge Nurse or relief charge experience with strong clinical expertise
• Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:-Current RN License in the State of Georgia or a Multi-State Compact License.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification highly preferred (required within 180 days of hire).
• National certification in a clinical specialty is preferred upon hire.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience is required; 2+ years is strongly preferred.
• Experience serving as a Charge Nurse or Relief Charge Nurse is required.
• Clinical expertise in a surgical, intermediate care, step-down, or acute care setting is essential.
• Strong leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to manage resources, solve clinical/managerial challenges, and inspire a team.
• Proficiency with technology and a commitment to patient-centered care.
