Assistant Nurse Mgr - Adult ED

Pay Range: $33 - $59 /hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location)

- Leadership & ED Operations
- Support the Nurse Manager with daily operational oversight of the Adult Emergency Department.
- Assist in supervising clinical staff, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with professional standards.
- Provide coaching, counseling, and performance feedback in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
- Serve as a resource for ED nurses and staff; lead in the Nurse Manager’s absence.
- Promote high-quality, safe, and efficient emergency care delivery.
- Teamwork & Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with ED leadership, staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Promote a respectful, safe, healthy work environment that supports retention and staff satisfaction.
- Hold staff accountable for performance, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
- Collaborate on staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
- Clinical Excellence & Quality Outcomes
- Promote staff competency and adherence to ED best practices.
- Maintain the highest ethical, regulatory, and clinical practice standards.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, audits, and readiness for accreditation.
- Support change management strategies that enhance ED efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Professional Development
- Mentor nurses by fostering clinical growth, leadership potential, and skill advancement.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional organization involvement.
- Develop managerial competencies in budgeting, operations, and healthcare finance.
- Evidence-Based Practice & Research
- Support evidence-based interventions, nursing research, and ED quality projects.
- Use data-driven insights for clinical and operational decision-making.
- Identify improvement opportunities in care delivery and system performance.
- Ensure compliance with licensure, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience;
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (GA Single-State or Multi-State Compact).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Instructor accepted).
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and support clinical staff in a high-pressure environment.
- Understanding of emergency care processes, patient flow, and clinical prioritization.
- Competence with data, metrics, and technology for decision-making.
- Knowledge of evidence-based care, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
- Interest in learning nurse management operations (budgeting, staffing, performance improvement).
- Ability to support shared decision-making, change management, and staff engagement.
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
- Licensure & Certifications (required upon hire):
- Active RN License (Single-State or Compact)
- BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical RN experience (ED experience strongly preferred).
