Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered.
- Collaborate with care providers to resolve discrepancies and clarify documentation.
- Abstract patient information into computerized systems, maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
- Ensure timely availability of coded records, meeting established productivity standards.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA policies regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Key Skills-Medical Coding Expertise / Attention to Detail / Knowledge of Healthcare Regulations and Compliance
- Minimum of 2 year of certified coding experience.
- High school diploma or GED, with post-secondary coursework in medical records administration, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Active certification as a Coding Specialist (CCS), Health Information Technician (RHIT), Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Professional Coder (CPC).
