Key Responsibilities:
- Sun, Mon, Tue 7p-8a overnight including call
- Mon-Fri 3pm-11pm including call
- Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat 9p-7a including call.
- Perform CT scans following established protocols while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy.
- Obtain necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies for procedures.
- Maintain sterile fields and instruments during procedures.
- Prepare requisitions correctly and communicate with patients and families before, during, and after procedures to reduce anxiety while maintaining patient privacy and dignity.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and respect patient confidentiality at all times.
- Verify patient identification according to facility policy and observe patients before and after contrast injections, reporting any changes to nursing staff and the Radiologist.
- Ensure medical records, previous reports, labs, and patient history are available for review.
- Initiate emergency responses in case of complications during procedures.
- Maintain adequate linen, contrast media, biopsy, and drainage supplies in each scanning room.
- Assist in the maintenance of CT storerooms and outside inventory, participating in daily stocking and cleaning tasks.
- Notify Lead or Supervisor of expired or soon-to-expire equipment or medications.
- Clean and maintain the CT gantry, table, and peripheral equipment after each use.
- Triages procedures and ensures timely coordination of emergency and unscheduled requests.
- Coordinate with other departments and ensure patient transport post-procedure.
- Screen patients for allergies and medication incompatibilities, assess their ability to tolerate contrast, and adhere to venipuncture and power injector protocols.
- Maintain QA/QC standards, ensuring compliance with daily, monthly, and ACR specifications.
- Recognize and report unusual conditions in equipment operation and assist with troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Key Skills: ARRT RT (CT),ARRT RT (R), NJDEP – New Jersey State X-Ray License.
- ARRT Certification in CT Technology
- Strong understanding of CT scanning equipment and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain patient privacy and handle sensitive information
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and ensure patient safety
- Prior experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital or clinical setting
- BLS/ACLS certification
- Familiarity with venipuncture and contrast injection protocols.
