Nurse Manager (RN) - Float Pool

Pay Range: $33 - $59 /hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

- Leadership & Unit Management
- Lead and manage Float Pool staff and operations to achieve clinical, financial, and workforce goals.
- Act as the standard bearer for the unit, ensuring accountability for the delivery of safe, high-quality care.
- Serve as the chief retention and safety officer, fostering a safe, supportive work environment.
- Resource & Support Oversight
- Manage human and material resources effectively to ensure optimal staffing and workflow.
- Apply Lean and other quality improvement tools to reduce waste and enhance operational performance.
- Partner with staff through shared governance to support patient-centered and relationship-based care.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences including nursing, physicians, departments, and leadership.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across departments to support smooth operations.
- Resolve conflicts proactively and promote positive team dynamics.
- Exemplary Practice & Clinical Outcomes
- Ensure staff competency and promote professional development and clinical excellence.
- Model professional nursing practice, ethical behavior, and high standards of care.
- Support onboarding, hiring, coaching, and retention of nursing staff.
- Use data and evidence to drive decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
- Professional Development
- Develop and manage unit budgets and meet or exceed performance targets.
- Represent the organization professionally within the community and on committees.
- Create growth opportunities for self and staff—promoting leadership and skill development.
- Evidence-Based Practice & Quality Improvement
- Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate risks; ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Use data to evaluate performance and improve operational and clinical outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of the healthcare environment and clinical operations
- Proven ability to lead and manage change, using systems-thinking
- Ability to inspire, coach, and develop staff
- Strong professionalism, teamwork, and collaboration skills
- Business management skills, including:
- Human and material resource management
- Budgeting and financial oversight
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Licensure & Certifications (required upon hire):
- Active RN License (Single-State or Compact)
- BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Minimum 2 years of progressive nursing management experience required
