Key Responsibilities:
- Exemplary Practice & Outcomes
- Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care using the full nursing process: assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate.
- Provide individualized, family-centered support that respects each patient’s culture, needs, and birth preferences.
- Partner with patients and families through open communication and education.
- Apply clinical best practices to ensure optimal outcomes in labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Teamwork & Collaboration
- Coordinate care with physicians, midwives, and other caregivers in a fast-paced environment.
- Document accurately and communicate effectively during interdisciplinary rounds.
- Support shared decision-making and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Professional Growth & Development
- Complete all ongoing education and professional competency requirements.
- Mentor and precept new nurses or students, promoting a culture of learning and excellence.
- Stay engaged in professional development and evidence-based practice.
- Evidence-Based Care & Research
- Integrate the latest clinical research and best practices into patient care.
- Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Utilize data and outcomes analysis to continuously improve nursing practice.
- Resources & Support
- Plan care proactively across the continuum — from admission through discharge.
- Collaborate on developing protocols that reduce complications and enhance patient satisfaction.
- Support the efficient and effective use of resources in all clinical situations.
- Key Skills:BLS, experience as a Registered Nurse
- Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of direct patient care in Labor & Delivery (Preferred 10+ years).
- Registered Nurse (RN) – Single State or Compact License (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Required)
- Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity situations.
- Ability to remain composed and compassionate during emergencies.
- Proficiency with clinical technology and EMR systems.
