Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care and Care Coordination: Monitor, examine, and evaluate patients' conditions before, during, and after radiology procedures (such as MRI, CT scans, fluoroscopy, and interventional radiology).
• Assist with the care plan and take appropriate actions to promote patients' short/long-term outcomes and wellbeing.
• Deliver care plan as outlined, applying independent judgment where appropriate.
• Collaborate with and communicate patient care plans with radiology technologists and physicians, as appropriate.
• Procedural Care Delivery: Prioritize and coordinate optimum daily patient flow and patient experience in the radiology department.
• Deliver safe and effective care according to policies and procedures, including moderate sedation administration, monitoring, and recovery.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of patient assessment, changes in condition, care delivered, education provided, and any incidents or exceptions related to standards of care or compliance with hospital policy.
• Patient Advocacy and Satisfaction: Listen to concerns, probe in-depth to understand the needs and concerns, and respond to patient needs in an appropriately timed manner.
• Serve as an educational resource for patients and families on radiology procedures and what to expect.
• Embrace the concept of patient- and family-centered care to maintain patient, family, staff, and physician satisfaction.
• Performance Improvement: Seek opportunities to improve the work environment and processes.
• Contribute ideas to help identify solutions and support change implementation aligned with achieving better patient quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and organizational financial performance.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current RN License in the State of Georgia or Multi-State Compact (RN-COMPACT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Required: Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting. Critical Care, Emergency Department, or Procedural area experience is highly preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in moderate sedation administration and patient monitoring.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to serve as an intermediary between patients, families, radiologists, and technologists.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
• Commitment to patient advocacy, satisfaction, and maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
• Ability to participate in performance improvement initiatives and support Shared Governance.
