Key Responsibilities:
- Periodic inspections of assigned data centers to ensure policies are being upheld
- Responsible for floor space allocations and related rack and rack peripheral infrastructure build out to accommodate hardware installations and moves
- Responsible for generating and communicating Data Center metrics
- Responsible for the management of data center operations and owned inventory
- Communicates provisions of data center policies and standards to the corporation and facilitates customer understanding of processes and procedures
- Plans and coordinates with various cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure present and future capacity/scalability
- Supports data center infrastructure by installing, maintaining, and repairing hardware in order to accommodate
- Data Center growth. Act as first-level support to the data center-owned hardware
- Performs data gathering and analysis and provides basic summary reporting in support of information technology projects
- Assists more senior analysts and IT management in evaluating implemented solutions and practices for continuous improvements
- Performs a variety of tasks in support of the data centers and must be able to work in a goal-setting environment
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of information systems technology
- Works with users, cross-functional technical staffs and all levels of management to translate requirements to develop processes and procedures
- Works with other operations and system management personnel to ensure accuracy and timeliness of production and non-production activities
- Provides support for data backups and specific software products and tools deployed within the data center
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of information systems technology
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key skills: - “Data Center Operations", "Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM)”, "NLYTE", “CAD", "Visio”
- Previous data center experience in a live production data center
- DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools are critical: NLYTE
- Experience with CAD and Visio
- Ability to prioritize workflow
