- Strategic & Financial Leadership: Analyze and manage the unit's operational budget and financial resources.
- Employ Lean and quality improvement skills to enhance clinical systems, reduce waste, and achieve business and clinical goals.
- Talent Management & Culture: Serve as the chief retention officer, creating a desirable and safe work environment that attracts and retains top talent.
- Manage human resources effectively, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and fostering professional growth through shared governance.
- Clinical Excellence & Standards: Uphold the highest professional, ethical, and compliance standards.
- Promote staff clinical competency and ensure care delivery meets or exceeds all licensure, regulatory (e.g., The Joint Commission), and accreditation requirements.
- Operational Management: Oversee all daily operations of the Perinatal unit(s).
- Ensure effective deployment of material resources and technology to support workflows and decision-making.
- Proactively manage risks and ensure patient and staff safety.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Communication: Model exemplary relationship-building skills to foster strong partnerships with physicians, staff, patients, and other departments.
- Employ effective negotiation, mediation, and change management strategies.
- Professional & Scholarly Contribution: Represent the organization positively in the community.
- Engage in scholarly activity and professional organizations to advance the field of nursing leadership and perinatal care.
- Key Skills;Current RN license (Georgia or Compact State)
- Current BLS certification
- Proven leadership in Perinatal, Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, or NICU settings
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related field is strongly preferred.
- Current RN License in the State of Georgia or a Multi-State Compact License.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Specialty certification in Perinatal (e.g., RNC-OB, C-EFM, NRP) is highly desirable.
- Minimum 2 years of progressive nursing management experience is required (e.g., Manager, Assistant Manager, Supervisor).
- Substantial clinical and leadership experience in a Perinatal setting (L&D, Postpartum, Antepartum, NICU) is essential.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong business acumen in healthcare financing, strategy, and operations.
- Proven ability in change management, systems thinking, and inspiring teams.
- Expertise in data analysis, performance improvement, and evidence-based practice.
- Knowledge of risk management and accreditation standards.
