Registered Nurse Manager- Outpatient Oncology Clinic

Pay Range: $33 - $59 /hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work night shift (for this specific role)
  • Ability to deliver individualized care in a fast-paced acute care environment
  • Commitment to client care standards, safety policies, and code of conduct
  • Leadership & Unit Operations
  • Lead and manage the Outpatient Oncology Clinic operations and staff.
  • Serve as the chief retention and safety officer for the unit.
  • Ensure a safe, positive, patient-centered environment.
  • Act as the standard bearer for clinical excellence, accountability, and service delivery.
  • 2. Staff Engagement & Development
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and mentor clinical staff.
  • Promote professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Model the way for professional nursing practice and ethical standards.
  • Build a desirable workplace that attracts and retains high-performing staff.
  • 3. Clinical, Quality, & Safety Oversight
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Regulatory standards
  • Risk management
  • Accreditation requirements
  • Promote and facilitate evidence-based practice and clinical research activities.
  • Monitor and address safety risks proactively.
  • Uphold the client
  • Professional Practice Model and 5-Star Nursing standards.
  • 4. Financial & Resource Management
  • Develop and manage the unit’s operational budget.
  • Ensure efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
  • Apply Lean principles to reduce waste and improve clinical operations.
  • 5. Interdisciplinary Communication & Collaboration
  • Establish strong working relationships with:
  • Physicians
  • Department leaders
  • Community partners
  • Clinic staff
  • Resolve conflicts and promote strong team dynamics.
  • Lead decision making through shared governance and collaborative practices.
  • 6. Community, Communication & Representation
  • Represent the oncology program and organization positively within the community.
  • Participate in committees, task forces, and improvement projects.
  • Champion service-line initiatives and contribute to strategic growth.
  • 7. Evidence-Based Practice & Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Utilize data, analytics, and clinical measures to drive improvements.
  • Support quality and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure ethical and proper use of patient and staff data.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal abilities
  • Deep knowledge of the healthcare environment and nursing operations
  • Proven leadership in:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Licensure & Certifications (required upon hire):
  • Active RN License (Single-State or Compact)
  • BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive nursing management experience required
