Member Services representative

Pay Range: $17 - $19/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Remote, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
- Call adult members to follow up on all pending services & appointments.
- Call MD offices, clinics, DME companies, & other providers to set up/coordinate member MD appointments, services, supplies and equipment.
- Assist members with finding providers when needed.
- This role is fast paced and requires excellent multi-tasking skills and someone who is a fast learner.
- This role interacts internally with the team and other departments, as well as externally with providers and members. Good customer service skills are a must. Interaction will be through telephone calls, messages on Microsoft Teams, email, and video. There will also be some in-person trainings required at an office
- Training also includes an observation visit with the nurse (field Service Coordinator) at a member’s home. The visit will be in-person and may require travel up to 2 hours one-way.
- This role is interesting because it involves multiple types of tasks. It’s also fast paced. Assisting the members with getting the services they need can also be rewarding.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Fast learner
- Time management skills include the ability to work independently in a remote setting and stay on task to meet deadlines.
- Previous experience working for a Managed Care Organization.
- Good knowledge of medical terminology.
- Good typing skills
- Managed Care/Insurance
- Inability to be self-motivated or stay on task
- Resides outside of TX, or lives in TX but outside the Central Standard time zone.
- One who becomes easily frustrated.
- Has poor communication skills.
- Fast learner with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Medical Terminology
- Call center experience
- One Microsoft Teams Video interview.
