CICS Systems Programmer

Pay Range: $70 - $75/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 

• Key skills; CICS, TS, SYSPLEX
• The position supports a large scale CICS/TS environment running in a zOS parallel SYSPLEX environment with complex multi-tiered applications making heavy use of MRO, IMS, VSAM files and DB2.
• This function performs software implementation, maintenance, certification testing, development and documentation of operational procedures.
• Problem debugging and root cause analysis, interaction with software vendors.
• The group this position is part of will require some off-hours and weekend work as well as rotation in 24 x 7 ONCALL support.
• Technical background in the z/OS mainframe arena plus knowledge of CICS/TS operations are necessary for the position.
• The candidate must be proficient in the use of JCL and working with various vendor utility programs.
• They must possess good analytical skills, debugging skills, knowledge of COBOL and CICS Command Level language programming. Good communication skills both written and oral are required as the individual must interface with application developers, support teams, software vendors and management staff.
• Rexx, CICS WEB Interface, RACF, programming experience with Assembler, COBOL or Java would be a plus as would experince with zOS CONNECT and/or Zosmf.
