Pharmacist
Immediate need for a talented Pharmacist. This is a 06+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Philadelphia, PA (Remote). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $65 - $70/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- The contract pharmacist will serve as a clinical consultant supporting Medicare members and providers.
- The pharmacist will provide guidance on formulary options and explain drug information to customer service representatives that will relay the messages to the members.
- The pharmacist will service as an advisor to prescribing physicians about formulary questions and engage directly with the providers by email or phone.
- Outreach and collaboration: You will perform outreach to members and providers to address medication adherence issues, gather clinical details, and facilitate access to necessary medications.
- Pharmacist must be familiar with drug information:
- Dosing and administration routes
- Safety concerns
- Side effects
- Interactions
- Drug class/formulary alternatives
- Pharmacist must be able to:
- Navigate clinical challenges and offer recommendations
- Collaborate internally with key stakeholders – medical directors, customer service team, IBX pharmacists
- Speak comfortably with prescribing physicians and provider offices.
- Answer clinical questions from customer service agents in a timely manner via messaging and emails
- Direct members through the coverage determination process. Review the feedback from PBM about approval or denial of coverage determination.
- Toggles between multiple systems and applications
- Collaborates with interdepartmental teams
- Excellent communication skills including telephonic (verbal) and digital (messaging, emails).
- Training:
- The pharmacist will undergo training on the formulary and Inflation Reduction Act.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key skills; NJ License, PA License, PharmD
- Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy with 5 years of relevant clinical experience
- Experience in handling provider-related questions.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical formularies.
- Computer/Technology Competency: Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Teams, and Outlook.
- Self-management Skills – self-motivated, organized, detail oriented and manages time and resources effectively.
