Key Responsibilities:
- Shift: Night Shift
- Schedule: Full-time
- Emergency Patient Care: Provide comprehensive, lifesaving nursing care to patients across the lifespan (pediatric to geriatric) with emergent conditions, including cardiac events, strokes, traumas, respiratory distress, and acute medical/surgical emergencies.
- Rapid Assessment & Triage: Perform rapid, accurate triage assessments to prioritize care based on acuity. Utilize critical thinking to identify life-threatening conditions and initiate immediate interventions.
- Advanced Clinical Skills: Administer medications, initiate IVs, manage ventilators, assist with intubations, perform wound care, and stabilize patients for transfer or admission. Utilize ACLS, PALS, and TNCC protocols in emergency situations.
- Trauma & Resuscitation: Function as a key member of the trauma and resuscitation team. Respond to codes and traumas with decisive, composed action.
- Patient Advocacy & Family Support: Provide clear communication and emotional support to patients and families during highly stressful situations. Embrace patient- and family-centered care principles.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, specialists, and other team members to ensure seamless, coordinated care. Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Must have skills:Current RN license (Georgia or Compact State)
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certification (required upon hire or within specified timeframes)
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience
- Substantial Emergency Department experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current RN License in the State of Georgia or a Multi-State Compact License.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required upon hire or within 90 days.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required upon hire or within 180 days.
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) certification required upon hire or within 18 months.
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience is required.
- Substantial, recent experience in an Emergency Department is essential.
- Expert clinical judgment, critical thinking, and rapid decision-making under pressure.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and crisis management skills.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, unpredictable, and high-stress environment.
- Proficiency in emergency procedures and technology.
