Oracle DBA/ Data Engineer

Pay Range: $190 - $200/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead administration and optimization of enterprise Oracle environments
• Design and execute strategies for patching, upgrades, backup, disaster recovery, and migrations
• Manage high availability and replication using RAC, DataGuard, and GoldenGate
• Oversee security compliance for SOX, PCI, audit processes, and operational risk
• Drive automation initiatives using OEM and modern tooling for monitoring and operational excellence
• Act as escalation point during outages, vulnerabilities, and performance incidents
• Support cloud migration initiatives and AWS RDS adoption
• Mentor and guide database teams, establishing best practices and operational standards
• Influence database strategy, architecture, and lifecycle planning

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Skills-Expert-level Oracle Database Administration knowledge and enterprise-level DBA leadership
• Advanced experience with RAC, DataGuard, GoldenGate, and performance tuning
• Design and execution of large-scale backup, recovery, patching, and upgrade strategies
• Deep expertise in performance optimization, database architecture, and high-volume workloads
• Strategic use of OEM, automation, onitoring, compliance, and operational efficiency
• Security, audit, compliance, and risk management expertise (SOX, PCI)
• Experience with AWS products/services, AWS RDS, cloud migrations, and decommission planning
• Technical leader and communicator across database management domain and advisor across data management, infrastructure, and security
• Mentors and upskills DBAs;
• Ability influence database architecture, short- or long-term operational strategy
• Acts as escalation point for high-severity incidents, risks, vulnerabilities etc.
• Implement process standardization, best practices, and process improvement across the DBA team
• Strong risk awareness and alignment with change control frameworks
