Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, environmental consultants, GIS mapping specialists, and real estate coordinators to prepare permit applications for railroad permitting to facilitate construction impacts related to transmission line and substation expansion projects.
- Complete and submit permit applications, and pursue application through timeframe until permit is issued or authorized.
- Obtain permitting authorizations for all crossings related to linear transmission line projects, including but not limited to: railroad crossings and turnpike crossings.
- Obtain entry and access permits.
- Support environmental permitting tasks if requested.
- Support fiber and communication permitting tasks if requested.
- Interact with construction contractors for electrical transmission lines, fiber, road building, foundations, geotechnical, survey, and restoration with respect to permitting needs and understand railroad permitting compliance.
- Support Client needs as directed.
- Assist with document research.
- Provide assistance to client on electrical distribution projects.
- Key Skills;Minimum 3-4 years of experience performing permitting and prepare permit applications.
- Knowledge with real estate coordination, GIS mapping and construction coordination.
- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program and min 4 years performing environmental and permitting studies, preparing permitting applications and analysing environmental data for various environmental impact projects.
- Master Degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program and min 3 years performing environmental and permitting studies, preparing permitting applications and analysing environmental data for various environmental impact projects is Required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Capable of working with diverse skill sets in fast paced environment.
- Team player focused on Client service and excellent Time Management Skills.
- Well-organized and able to simultaneously pursue and track multiple project permitting efforts
