BI Data Analyst with SQL
Immediate need for a talented BI Data Analyst with SQL. This is a 12+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in San Antonio, TX(Onsite). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $30 - $33/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate requirements for data assets created by the team and built by IT.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by reviewing new data assets and tables.
- Validate target data assets through reverse engineering and comparison with source tables, checking attribute definitions, columns, and derivation notes in Excel for accuracy.
- Compare source and target data to ensure correctness. Communicate regularly with IT data engineers to report issues, discrepancies, or request validation and corrections.
- Familiar with designing an analytical plan, breaking large projects into pieces, applying critical thinking, and robust testing of data logic.
- New data asset user acceptance testing.
- Certify that a layer 3 asset accurately meets requirements by comparing against layer 2 (source) assets.
- Deliver insight to action to the business using billing and channel data sets
- Collaborate closely with a lead decision science analyst on asset requirements and work with IT team members as needed.
- Business-facing analytics experience is good. Meaning the analyst can gather requirements from a non-technical individual, then study and research databases, tables, wikis, and peers.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key skills; User Acceptance Testing (UAT); SQL Querying; MS Excel; GitLab; Source-To-Target Data Validation
- SQL (2+ years)
- Excel (2+ years)
- Analytics & Critical Thinking (2+ years)
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new data assets/tables.
- SQL (Ability to query, manipulate, and transform data)
- Databases (Snowflake, Postgres, MySQL, Hadoop, etc.)
- Visual Studio Code (VSCode)
- Each day, the analyst will write SQL in Visual Studio Code (VSCode) to help test new data assets and compare data between different data layers.
- The analyst will use GIT to interact with code repositories.
- The analyst will write SQL to extract insights for action for the business.
- Analyst will use SQL to develop data sets for data visualizations.
