Physical Therapist

Pay Range: $40 - $61/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ physical function upon admission, including mobility, balance, strength, and range of motion.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury.
• Provide acute care rehabilitation, including early mobility, gait training, and functional exercises.
• Assist post-surgical patients (e.g., orthopedic, cardiac, neuro) in regaining mobility and preventing complications such as blood clots or pneumonia.
• Educate patients and families on safe mobility techniques, precautions, and discharge planning.
• Recommend and train patients in the use of assistive devices, such as walkers, crutches, or wheelchairs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and case managers to coordinate patient care.
• Contribute to discharge planning by assessing home safety needs and recommending ongoing therapy or rehabilitation services.
• Document patient evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with hospital standards.
• Promote early mobility initiatives in intensive care and medical-surgical units.
• Support fall prevention programs by assessing risk and implementing safety strategies.
• Educate staff and patients about proper body mechanics, positioning, and rehabilitation protocols.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and HIPAA standards.
