Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice, analytical/critical thinking, ensuring individualized care.
  • Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics, adapting to cultural diversity.
  • Partner with patients and significant others using appropriate methods (huddles, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching) to keep them updated and focused on their goals.
  • Practice using current clinical practice standards.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration
  • Coordinate safe, quality patient care delivery and documentation, promoting a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and promote recruitment/retention of healthcare team members.
  • Professional Development & Initiative
  • Complete all professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education.
  • Serve as a preceptor/mentor for nurses and unlicensed staff, modeling professional nursing practice and creating a healthy work environment.
  • Evidence-Based Practice & Research
  • Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. Participate in value analysis.
  • Uphold all policies, procedures, legal/regulatory/accreditation standards (e.g., TJC Patient Safety Goals). May serve as Safety Coach.
  • Participate in data collection, pose clinical questions to advance evidence-based practice.
  • Resources & Support
  • Proactively plan for patient care across the continuum.
  • Participate in developing protocols and procedures with Practice Managers and Clinical Services to achieve best practice outcomes.
  • Support efficient use of human and material resources.
  • Leadership
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate staff-to-patient care; evaluate care and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee daily staffing requirements; orient clinical staff; provide leadership in clinical problem solving.
  • Assist with staff recruitment; ensure orientation plans; provide timely feedback; schedule in-service/training; serve as liaison with physicians.
  • Implement and interpret organizational policies, nursing standards, and regulations.
  • Use evidence-based practice to develop standards of practice that guide improvement initiatives.
  • Work with Clinical Services to develop clinical competencies for non-provider clinical staff.
  • Lead annual competency check-off for non-provider clinical staff.
  • Ensure all nursing/MA staff maintain appropriate credentials/licensure.
  • Attend monthly Clinical Champion meetings; share information; lead implementation of best practices.
  • Practice Operations
  • Maintain appropriate staffing and supply par levels to achieve practice goals.
  • Contribute to financial viability through service quality and clinical excellence.
  • Act as liaison with Clinical Informatics for EHR training needs.
  • Human Resource Management
  • Adhere to HR policies and apply consistently with input from MGR/DPO.
  • Assist with hiring process.
  • Appropriately delegate responsibilities to clinical staff and provide oversight.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Apply working knowledge of organizational and department policies and procedures.
  • Uphold all applicable regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Lead back-office clinical quality initiatives regarding Survey Readiness.
  • May serve as practice Safety Coach.
  • Participate in clinical site assessments.
  • Other duties as assigned. Complies with all health system policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 

  • Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Licensure/Certification (Required upon hire):
  • Current RN License in the State of Georgia or Multi-State Compact (RN-COMPACT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Required: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse OR 1 year as an RN plus more than 2 years in a physician practice setting as an LPN or CMA.
  • Preferred: Supervisory or leadership experience; specific experience in the practice specialty.
  • Ability to implement national nursing standards, knowledge of health care and medical procedures, interpersonal/human relations skills, attentiveness to detail, ability to interact positively with staff, providers and patients.
  • Manage time efficiently, delegate, and build teams.
  • Must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English, optimize technology to support clinical care, and hold basic computer skills.
  • Adhere to organizational Credo and Code of Conduct.
