Key Responsibilities:

• Expert Vascular Access: Perform difficult peripheral IV insertions, PICC line and midline dressing changes and maintenance, and assist with ultrasound-guided IV placements. Serve as the unit-based expert for all vascular access needs.
• IV Therapy Management: Administer complex IV medications, blood products, and parenteral nutrition. Monitor for complications such as infiltration, phlebitis, and infection.
• Ensure all central lines are managed according to evidence-based protocols (e.g., INS standards).
• Patient Care & Education: Assess patients' vascular access needs, develop care plans, and provide extensive education to patients and floor nurses on IV site care, complication signs, and pump operation.
• Consultation & Support: Function as a consultative resource for nursing staff throughout the hospital, providing support for IV-related issues and troubleshooting problematic lines.
• Quality & Safety: Adhere to strict infection control and sterile technique. Participate in IV therapy performance improvement initiatives and help reduce hospital-acquired bloodstream infections (CLABSI).
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all vascular access procedures, patient assessments, and interventions.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Key Skills;Current RN license (Georgia or Compact State)
• Current BLS certification (required upon hire)
• Strong IV therapy and vascular access skills
• Experience with PICC lines, midlines, and difficult IV starts
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
• Current RN License in the State of Georgia or a Multi-State Compact License.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.
• CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion) or VA-BC (Vascular Access Board Certified) is highly desirable.
• Experience in IV therapy, vascular access, critical care, emergency department, or interventional radiology is highly preferred.
• Proven proficiency with peripheral IV starts, central line care, and ultrasound-guided IV insertion is essential.
• Exceptional manual dexterity and vascular assessment skills.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and independent judgment.
• Excellent interpersonal and consultative communication skills.
• Ability to function autonomously and as a resource across multiple units.
