Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and related technologies.
 - Design, configure, and support DB2 databases on z/OS, ensuring high availability and performance tuning.
 - Work with Oracle databases for data integration, migration, or interfacing between mainframe and distributed systems.
 - Analyze business and system requirements to create effective technical solutions.
 - Perform unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing to ensure application stability and data integrity.
 - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
 - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application developers, QA, and infrastructure teams.
 - Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, job schedules, and operational procedures.
 - Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
 
- Skills-Mainframe, DB2, Oracle, Testing.
 - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
 - 8 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe application development and support.
 - Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and SQL.
 - 
DB2 to Oracle Conversion:
The project involves converting DB2 stored procedures to Oracle, so having experience testing that type of migration is important. - Understanding a DB2 Stored Procedure:
 - He asked about the steps you would take to understand what a DB2 stored procedure does — specifically its inputs, outputs, and functionality.
 - I mentioned that I would review the DB2 catalog tables to identify the underlying tables and touchpoints associated with the stored procedure.
 - Comparing Two Flat Files Using DFSORT:
 - He wanted to know how I would identify differences between two flat files using the DFSORT utility.
 - It’s important to understand how the utility works and how to perform a comparison.
 - I explained that I would use the SORT FIELDS clause along with the INCLUDE COND clause to filter and compare, then review both the file size and content after sorting to validate differences.
 - Experience working with Oracle databases, including PL/SQL scripting and data migration.
 - Familiarity with testing methodologies and tools (e.g., unit testing frameworks, automation tools).
 - Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
 - Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
 - Strong communication and documentation abilities.
