Pay Range: $40 - $45/hour + Mileage

  • Assessing the member’s current health status, resource utilization, past and present treatment plan and services, short- and long-term goals, treatment and provider options.
  • Follow up on requests for items/services
  • Speaking to providers
  • The RN position on the STAR Kids Assessment Team serves Medicaid recipients from birth through age 20 who have disabilities. This role involves conducting in-person assessments to evaluate members for initial evaluations, annual reassessments, changes in condition, and MDCP Interest List (IL) eligibility.
  • These assessments help determine the need for services such as Personal Care Services (PCS), Private Duty Nursing (PDN), Durable Medical Equipment (DME), therapy, and the MDCP waiver program.
  • While visits are conducted in person, documentation can be completed remotely from home.
  • This position specifically covers members residing in El Paso and Hudspeth counties.

  • Each nurse is expected to complete 6 successful visits per week, with assessments submitted within 24 hours and all other documentation finalized within five business days.
  • While visits are generally scheduled Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., compliance with contractual turnaround times is essential.
  • Because we serve a pediatric population, some visits may occur after 5 p.m., and occasional Saturday appointments may be assigned on a rotating basis if no volunteers are available.
  • All assessments are conducted in members’ homes, requiring travel within a radius of over 100 miles, including surrounding counties.
  • Travel time is considered when evaluating weekly productivity, allowing flexibility based on distance and scheduling demands.

  • Requesting time off within 10 weeks of start date. No time off will be permitted due to strict training schedule, this includes full days or partial hours.
