Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical

Pay Range: $33 - $59/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Exemplary Practice & Patient Outcomes
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Use the full nursing process to deliver safe, evidence-based clinical care.
- Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care tailored to individual needs (age, gender, condition, culture).
- Partner with patients and families through education, communication, and care planning.
- Maintain current knowledge of clinical practice standards.
- Teamwork & Collaboration
- Coordinate and document safe, high-quality patient care.
- Promote respectful, inclusive communication across interdisciplinary teams.
- Support recruitment, retention, and teamwork among clinical staff.
- Engage in system-wide performance improvement initiatives.
- Actively participate in shared governance and professional development activities.
- Professional Development & Initiative
- Complete all mandatory training, clinical competencies, and ongoing education.
- Serve as a preceptor or mentor to new nurses, students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to a professional, supportive, and healthy work environment.
- Evidence-Based Practice & Research
- Promote and participate in evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
- Evaluate patient care products and processes through value analysis.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Participate in data collection and use evidence to inform practice changes.
- Resources & Support
- Plan proactively for patient needs across the care continuum.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop protocols and optimize outcomes.
- Support efficient use of human and material resources to reduce avoidable events and readmissions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with all organizational policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Licensure & Certifications (required upon hire):
- Active RN License (Single-State of Georgia or Compact)
- BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Minimum 2 years direct patient care nursing experience
- Ability to work night shift (for this specific role)
- Ability to deliver individualized care in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Commitment to Hospital care standards, safety policies, and code of conduct
- Ability to perform full nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies calmly and decisively
- Excellent time-management and prioritization skills
- Effective communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to provide culturally competent, individualized patient care
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills
- Ability to use clinical technology and maintain basic computer proficiency
- Ability to mentor, precept, and support other staff members
- Understanding of evidence-based practice, nursing ethics, and regulatory compliance
