Director of SRE

Pay Range: $100 - $110.93/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Strategy
• Define and drive the technical vision for infrastructure, monitoring, and reliability.
• Lead a multicultural team of SREs, fostering a culture of openness, innovation, and collaboration.
• Set clear goals and mentor engineers to reach their full potential.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to align reliability goals with business objectives.
• Infrastructure & Operations
• Oversee infrastructure provisioning, networking, and development tooling.
• Own and evolve the observability platform and incident response practices.
• Ensure high availability and performance of services through proactive testing and resilience engineering.
• Continuously improve infrastructure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Process & Collaboration
• Establish and maintain SLAs, SLOs, KPIs and error budgets.
• Work closely with application teams to define baseline monitoring and reliability standards including disaster recovery.
• Drive adoption of best practices in CI/CD, automation, and fault tolerance.
• Lead incident management and postmortem processes.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Skills-Director/Sr. Director of Site Reliability Engineering
• Experience in managing SRE & DevOps teams in complex, cloud-native environments.
• Deep understanding of hybrid cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, and monitoring systems/tools (DataDog preferred).
• Strong background in Unix/Linux and Windows OS environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience leading SRE or DevOps teams in complex, cloud-native environments. Looking for ~10+ years experience.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), infrastructure as code, and monitoring systems/tools (DataDog preferred).
• Strong background in Unix/Linux or Windows OS environments.
• Experience with agile methodologies and software configuration management.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
