Immediate need for a talented Specialist Actuarial Support with experience in the Insurance Industry. This is a 06+ Months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Harleysville, PA. Please review the job description below.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Retrieves and manipulates data responsible for suitability and accuracy of data.
  • Continues to develop knowledge of more advanced actuarial methodologies.
  • Conducts analyses that adhere to actuarial standards of practice: selects appropriate data sources and data types, and makes assumptions when data integrity is questionable.
  • Documents assumptions, sources, and considerations; organizes documents.
  • Notes unreasonable results/non-optimal solutions; investigates; suggests alternative resolutions.
  • Prepares internal memos, documents, and letters as needed.
  • Communications are to be concise, logical, organized, and grammatically correct with the appropriate level of technical terms suitable to the audience.
  • Develops personal work schedule to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks; coordinates with others as appropriate.
  • Participates in Peer Tech Reviews.
  • May train new employees in unit on standard work processes.
  • Participates as assigned in interview activities or on interdisciplinary teams..
  • May supervise or serve as group leader on an ongoing or developmental basis.
 Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics or related field with a strong quantitative orientation.
  • Sound knowledge of actuarial methods/concepts, insurance terminology and products; evidence of familiarity with legal requirements in area of assignment.
  • Must display command of procedures and methodologies employed in area of assignment.
  • Five years related experience in an actuarial and statistical support. No actuarial exams 
  • Effective oral/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend actuarial concerns and other advanced statistical concepts. Demonstrated ability to think logically and handle non-routine assignments.
  • Ability effectively use personal computer and related actuarial and business software.
  • Ability to work independently.
