Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic Imaging: Perform nuclear medicine procedures including organ imaging, cardiac stress tests, and other diagnostic studies using radiopharmaceuticals.
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, administer radiopharmaceuticals, and position patients for optimal imaging. Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide compassionate care throughout the procedure.
- Technical Expertise: Operate and calibrate gamma cameras and other nuclear medicine equipment. Ensure proper image acquisition and quality control.
- Radiation Safety: Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols for patients, staff, and self. Properly handle, store, and dispose of radioactive materials in compliance with regulations.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control initiatives and maintain accurate records of procedures and radiopharmaceutical usage.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other technologists to ensure seamless patient care and accurate diagnostic results.
- Client is a private, non-profit, 143-bed, multi-specialty hospital serving the Brazos Valley region. This facility features:
- Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center
- Certified Chest Pain Center
- Level III Trauma Center
- The only Level III NICU designation in Brazos Valley
- American Nurse Credentialing Center Magnet Designation
- The College Station region includes two hospitals and 15 clinics throughout Southeast Texas.
- Current ARRT-N (Nuclear Medicine Tech) or CNMT certification
- Experience in nuclear medicine procedures
- Strong technical and patient care skills
- Commitment to quality and safety standards
- Skills: Strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Licensure/Credential: Must hold one of the following certifications:
- ARRT-N (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Nuclear Medicine)
- CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) through the NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board)
- Certification: Current BLS certification required.
- Experience: Previous experience in nuclear medicine is preferred, but new graduates with the required credentials are encouraged to apply.
- Work Shift & Schedule: Shift: Day Shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
- Call Requirement: Rotating call
