Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care and Care Coordination: Monitor, examine, and evaluate patients' conditions related to vascular access and infusion needs.
• Assist with the care plan and take appropriate actions to promote patients' short/long-term outcomes and wellbeing.
• Deliver care plan as outlined, applying independent judgment where appropriate. Collaborate with and communicate patient care plans with other staff, as appropriate.
• Specialized IV Therapy Care: Prioritize and coordinate optimum daily patient flow and patient experience for patients requiring peripheral and central line insertions, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Deliver safe and effective care according to policies and procedures for IV therapy. Maintain appropriate documentation of patient assessment, changes in condition, care delivered, education provided, and any incidents or exceptions related to standards of care or compliance with hospital policy.
• Patient Advocacy and Satisfaction: Listen to concerns, probe in-depth to understand the needs and concerns, and respond to patient needs in an appropriately timed manner.
• Serve as an educational resource for patients and families on IV therapy and vascular access issues.
• Embrace the concept of patient- and family-centered care to maintain patient, family, staff, and physician satisfaction.
• Performance Improvement: Seek opportunities to improve the work environment and processes related to IV therapy outcomes.
• Contribute ideas to help identify solutions and support change implementation aligned with achieving better patient quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and organizational financial performance.
• Professional Leadership: Foster the growth and development of other nurses through mentorship and preceptorship in IV therapy best practices.
• Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
• Adhere to all confidentiality, safety, and professional standards.
• Act with professionalism, embrace shared governance principles, and demonstrate integrity.
• Other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Licensure/Certification:
• Required upon hire:
• Current RN License in the State of Georgia or Multi-State Compact (RN-COMPACT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience:-Required: Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting. IV Therapy or Critical Care experience is highly preferred.
• Skills:-Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills specific to vascular access and infusion therapy.
• Proficiency in peripheral IV insertion, midline placement, and central line management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to serve as a resource for patients, families, providers, and care team members.
• Commitment to patient advocacy, satisfaction, and maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
• Ability to participate in performance improvement initiatives and support Shared Governance.
