Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Pay Range: $32 - $58/hour. Competitive compensation with night shift differentials
Key Responsibilities:
- Shift: Night Shift (7pm-7am)
- Schedule: Part-time

- Advanced Neonatal Care:
- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to neonates with conditions such as extreme prematurity, respiratory distress, congenital anomalies, sepsis, and surgical needs.
- Manage advanced equipment including ventilators, CPAP, incubators, and IV infusion pumps.
- Partner with parents and families as essential members of the care team. Provide emotional support, thorough education on their baby’s condition and care, and facilitate bonding experiences (e.g., kangaroo care) in the NICU environment.
- Family-Centered Care:•
- Perform detailed physical assessments, interpret monitoring data, administer specialized medications and TPN, provide developmental care, and respond swiftly to acute changes in neonatal status.
- Clinical Expertise:•
- Utilize Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) protocols proficiently during deliveries and emergent situations within the NICU.
- Resuscitation & Stabilization:•
- Work closely with neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, and other specialists to develop and execute individualized care plans.
- Team Collaboration:•
- Professional Development: Maintain NICU-specific competencies, serve as a preceptor for new staff, and participate in unit-based research and quality improvement projects.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key Skills; Current RN license (Georgia or Compact State)
- Current BLS and NRP certification (required upon hire or within 180 days)
- Minimum 5 years of direct patient care experience•
- NICU or critical care neonatal experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current RN License in the State of Georgia or a Multi-State Compact License.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required upon hire or within 180 days.
- CCRN (Neonatal) or RNC-NIC certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of direct patient care experience is required.
- Substantial experience in a Level III or IV NICU is essential. Experience in a high-acuity neonatal setting is required.
- Exceptional clinical judgment, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate support to distressed families.
- Proficiency in neonatal assessment, pathophysiology, and advanced technology.
- Ability to function effectively in a high-stakes, emotionally intense environment.
