UX Designer - Junior

Key Responsibilities:

  • Notes: Seeking a total of 4 roles:
  • 2 x Design Systems - Web Platforms (Level: Designer II / III)
  • 2 x Design Systems - Native Platforms (Level: Designer II / III)
  • Due to client's restrictions concerning 3P roles, all roles MUST be able to work onsite at client offices in Colorado Springs, CO (preferred). Absolutely no exceptions will be considered.
  • This is a Contract-to-Hire (CTH) role, and the candidate should be able to convert to FTE without any sponsorship.
  • Designer II (Design Systems - Web / Native Platforms):
  • Contributes within high-performing design system team by applying knowledge and experience in the practice of human-centered and systems design.
  • Assists in the research, ideation, concepting, prototyping, testing, and delivery activities within the Reveille design system in a data-informed, agile environment.
  • Demonstrates the value of design by working with team members to craft, iterate, and deliver solutions that align with member needs.
  • Designer III (Design Systems - Web / Native Platforms):
  • With guidance, contributes within a high-performing design system team by applying foundational knowledge in the practice of human-centered and systems design.
  • Participates in research, ideation, concepting, prototyping, testing, and delivery activities within the Reveille design system in a data-informed, agile environment.
  • Within guidelines and framework, demonstrates the value of design by working alongside team members to craft, iterate, and deliver solutions that align with member needs.
  • Identifies and documents business problems to help shape a solution for moderately complex cross-organizational projects
  • Contributes ideas and supports cross-functional stakeholders during human-centered design sessions and group discussions
  • Collaborates with team members to ensure work meets agreed-upon business requirements
  • With guidance, contributes to all design activities from discovery to implementation of design artifacts and prototypes
  • Supports member-focused research efforts and the synthesis of research findings to determine a direction that aligns with member needs
  • With guidance, creates and documents design assets and specifications, leveraging interaction design, visual design, and/or content design competencies.
  • Participates in critiques and design reviews to offer and receive relevant, focused, and actionable feedback
  • Uses usability and accessibility best practices to identify and respond to risks, ensuring optimal member experiences in accordance with relevant *** risk and compliance policies and procedures
  • Designer III (Design Systems - Web / Native Platforms):
  • With guidance, contributes to the identification and documentation of business problems to help shape a solution for moderately complex projects.
  • Supports portions of their workstream from discovery to implementation through the development of design artifacts, prototypes, and documentation.
  • With guidance, creates and designs assets, leveraging a basic understanding of interaction design, visual design, or content design.
  • Supports human-centered research efforts and the synthesis of research findings to determine a direction that aligns with member and employee needs.
  • Attends critiques and design reviews to help develop a basic understanding of human-centered and service design principles and methodologies.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 

  • Key  Skills: "UX Design”, "Figma”, “Enterprise Design Systems”, “HCD”, "Usability"
  • 2 years of relevant, on-the-job experience in a Product Design, UX Design, or Service Design role delivering complex design systems for web and native applications
  • A portfolio that demonstrates a strong attention to detail, experience with design systems, style guides, or component libraries for digital products, and experience designing digital experiences
  • Experience working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design, prototyping, and workplace communication and collaboration applications
  • Proficiency with the latest Figma features, such as variables, and design system best practices, such as design tokens
  • Strong interpersonal, time-management, organizational, prioritization, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated, engaged, and able to work effectively within a team environment, with attention to deliverable timelines
  • An understanding of information architecture, accessibility, and usability best practices
  • Experience collaborating closely with developers
  • Experience designing user interfaces for web and mobile experiences
  • Demonstrated understanding of modern web technologies and best practices, including responsive design and CSS flexbox and grid
  • Experience designing user interfaces for iOS and Android applications
  • Demonstrated understanding of iOS and Android platform conventions
  • 2 years of relevant, on-the-job experience in a Product Design, UX Design, Service Design, Design Research, or Production Design role delivering design for web and native applications.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates a basic understanding of designing digital experiences for mobile and web-based applications.
  • Foundational knowledge of standard design and workplace applications, including industry standard design, prototyping, and collaboration software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working understanding of new technologies and best practices in website navigation, browsers, mobile patterns, information architecture, and usability.
  • Highly motivated, engaging, and able to work effectively within a team environment, always delivering results on time.
  • Quick learner with solid organizational skills.
  • Figma, Zeroheight, Atlassian Suite
