Data Catalog Lead

Pay Range: $90 - $100/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key skills; Data Catalog Lead, GDPR, CCPA, maintenance
- Manage the collection, curation, and organization of metadata, including technical metadata (e.g., data types, formats), business metadata (e.g., data definitions, data lineage), and operational metadata (e.g., data usage, data quality).
- Ensure that the data catalog accurately documents technical and business data lineage, showing the flow of data from its source to its destinations, including transformations and aggregations along the way.
- Ensure that the data catalog aligns with client data governance policies, standards, and practices.
- Ensure the data catalog supports compliance with regulatory requirements, such as data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), by accurately documenting data lineage, data classification, and data access controls.
- Support the implementation of data stewardship roles and responsibilities related to the data catalog, ensuring proper oversight and governance of metadata.
- Make it easy for users to discover and access data assets by creating and maintaining an intuitive and user-friendly data catalog interface.
- Implement advanced search and filtering capabilities to help users quickly find relevant data assets based on keywords, metadata attributes, and other criteria.
- Educate and train users on how to effectively use the data catalog to find and understand data, improving data literacy across the organization.
- Oversee the ongoing maintenance and updating of the data catalog to ensure it reflects the most current and accurate data assets.
- Help to refine the strategy and build upon the foundations that have been implemented for building and maintaining the data catalog, aligned with the organization’s data governance framework and business objectives.
- Continue to develop the structure and taxonomy of the data catalog, ensuring it effectively organizes and categorizes data assets across the organization.
- Create, monitor, and distribute reports on the usage, performance, and value of the data catalog, providing insights to data governance leadership and other stakeholders.
