Staff/Senior Project Control Specialist

Pay Range: $55 - $68/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate proper set-up and management of the Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
  • Analyze data, logs, and reports in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software or other tools.
  • Validate proper Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is utilized.
  • Develop effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flow reports and forecasts for multiple projects.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the reporting data warehouse to produce valuable program controls reports and data for multiple large projects.
  • Provide leadership and training to team members ensuring the resolution of difficult project control issues.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with existing and potential clients, customers, and contractors.
  • Responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics and cost control.
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical questions from the project team.
  • Validate the accuracy of cost management and forecast reporting.
  • Interface with the Project Management Team and Accounting Department to review project costs and contingency costs and support external audits.
  • Experience in negotiation of prime agreements, construction contracts/subcontracts agreements.
  • Review upstream (prime contract) / downstream (purchase orders & subcontract) change orders.
  • Analyze cash flow reports. Lead the Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM).
  • Lead the presentation of Project Controls reporting. Validate schedule progress.
  • Analyze and evaluate schedule management involving the critical path method of scheduling techniques, estimating, project cost management, forecasting and document control.
  • Perform schedule what-if scenarios. Validate the accuracy of earned value management system reporting.
  • Analyze progress measurement. Analyze progress curves. Perform and review material Takeoffs.
  • Identify and oversee the Risk Management process. Perform quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables.
  • Perform field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and processes. Perform Project Forensic Analysis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 

  • Key Skills; Must Have: Project Scheduling & Controls, Cost & Reports Forecasting,
  • WBS, Project Planning & Coordination, Constructability experience.
  • Software Skills: Primavera P6 & MS Office.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. and 3-7 years direct project controls experience Required.
  • Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Experience with critical path scheduling, project cost management, estimating and document control required.
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules and interface those construction schedules with engineering and procurement activities preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skills, excellent attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification Ability to obtain.
