Pay Range: $32 - $58/hour.
  
Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care and Care Coordination: Monitor, examine, and evaluate patients' conditions in the Neuro ICU.
• Perform frequent neurological assessments and assist with the care plan to promote patients' short/long-term outcomes and wellbeing.
• Deliver care plan as outlined, applying independent judgment where appropriate.
• Collaborate with and communicate patient care plans with other staff, as appropriate.
• Critical Care Delivery: Prioritize and coordinate optimum daily patient flow and patient experience for critically ill neuro patients.
• Deliver safe and effective care according to policies and procedures.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of patient assessment, changes in condition, care delivered, education provided, and any incidents or exceptions related to standards of care or compliance with hospital policy.
• Patient Advocacy and Satisfaction: Listen to concerns, probe in-depth to understand the needs and concerns, and respond to patient needs in an appropriately timed manner.
• Serve as an educational resource for patients and families on complex neurological conditions and recovery.
• Embrace the concept of patient- and family-centered care to maintain patient, family, staff, and physician satisfaction.
• Performance Improvement: Seek opportunities to improve the work environment and processes.
• Contribute ideas to help identify solutions and support change implementation aligned with achieving better patient quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and organizational financial performance.
• Professional Leadership: Foster the growth and development of other nurses through mentorship and preceptorship.
• Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment. Adhere to all confidentiality, safety, and professional standards.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 

• Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Licensure/Certification:
• Current RN License in the State of Georgia or Multi-State Compact (RN-COMPACT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Required within 180 Days:
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Required: Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience. Neuro ICU or Critical Care experience is highly preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with expertise in neurological assessments and managing complex neuro patients.
• Proficiency in caring for patients with ventilators, ICP monitoring, and other critical care technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to serve as an intermediary between patients, families, providers, and care team members during high-acuity situations.
• Commitment to patient advocacy, satisfaction, and maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
• Ability to participate in performance improvement initiatives and support Shared Governance through service on councils or sponsored activities.
